Hi, I’m Shelly!
Pals, I’m smack dab in the middle of a midlife awakening. My very own Plan B. Or as I like to call it, Plan Be-ing Me.
I consider myself a true steel magnolia—traditional femininity with uncommon fortitude. After my divorce, I forgot how strong I was for a little while. But now I’m living a Plan B story. That I never could’ve predicted. I’m an accidental influencer. An always and forever writer. And an ever evolving Mom of 3 launched Babes and a senior in high school. Soon to be empty nester.
I’m steadily realizing (and often re-learning) that good and hard things can and do hold hands. I’ve found true love in the people I choose to have around me. And I’m learning to carry deep grief with the tragic loss of my beloved brother.
I am struck by the beauty of a life. That feels a little uncertain. But wide open in the best possible way. No one else in the whole, wide world has my view. And, spoiler alert, no one else has yours either. So I plan to appreciate mine accordingly.
And, I promise. If you stick with me, you’ll begin to look at your view with heart eyes, too. Because you’re not too old, and it’s not too late. To wake up in the middle of your very own story.

Life with 4 Babes …
Mamas, I see you. I’m living life. In our happy house on the hill. I’ve launched 3 Babes to college and have one still at home. And it’s a life filled with the best kinds of ordinary goodness.
I believe in an abundance in parenting. The scarcity mindset of “only 18 summers” is hogwash. There is a lifetime of meaning and joy. In parenting launched Babes. And I plan to show you that truth. Again and again. Until you believe it.
I covet the wisdom of women who are walking ahead of me. And I’m happy to reach back and help any Mom who asks. In the way of encouragement or sharing lessons I’ve learned in the “trenches of ordinary”. Which, I believe, is where we earn our salt as humans and women.
