Lake Trip on the Horizon

Hilltop Kitchen in progress—big plans for this little space.

Hilltop Kitchen in progress—big plans for this little space.

Newsflash: This Sunday, I’ll be heading to the lake with Matt for a work/fun trip! And we have BIG plans for this little kitchen. The cabinet doors are painted and ready to hang. And we have some new pulls and knobs to introduce to you! Happy little details to make this space shine.

And take a gander at that light fixture in the kitchen. Because it’s the last time you’ll see it in this space. Something with a more cottage-y, lake vibe is gonna hang there for a while. And she’s pretty flirty and fun, friends.

But what I’m most excited about is a whimsical detail I chose eons ago. And when I did, Matt looked at me with a very skeptical face. But I said what I always say, “Don’t say no. Just think about it.” Because Sasster uses that line on me all the time.

And so Matt shook his head and ordered the supplies. Trusting that my vision would work. And, dear ones, I can’t wait to see what you think. I feel like the feature wall we’re about to create, right across from the kitchen, was literally begging for me to give her a little lipstick and rouge. And so I just had to help a girl out!

I’m giddy to show you what we have planned. And bonus: I get to learn a new skill this week. Hopefully, Matt will still like me after we work together in a small-ish space while he patiently teaches me. So stay tuned for all the mishaps and adventure. You know there will be a couple (or more) gin and tonics involved, too!

I can’t wait to take you along to the lake. For some summer fun, DIY style!

P.S. Please don’t tell Matt I’m not as patient as he thinks…but also remind him to bring extra gin:)
